May 30, 1918 Okeechobee Call Newspaper

This paper was provided by Ellis Drauhon and was originally in the possession of Faith Raulerson Meserve.  Based on the hand written name on the first page, it was originally delivered to J. E. Lovvorn. It consists of two large newspaper size double sided sheets of paper.  This results in eight newspaper pages that separated into pieces along lines where the paper had been folded.  Thus, each page separated into four pieces with some missing fragments in various places.  The separate pieces were scanned in at 150 DPI and saved as TIFF files.  Then using a graphics program, each page was pieced together out of four separate pieces.  This made a TIFF file of about 8 MB for each page, which when converted for the Internet to a JPEG file with 60:1 compression and a reduction to 100 DPI resulted in a file of size around 400 - 500 KB, which is much more manageable for online viewing.
